As America continues to celebrate the Supreme Court’s ruling declaring DOMA unconstitutional, The New Yorker chose to feature some unconventional figures on their marriage equality cover — Muppets Bert and Ernie from “Sesame Street.”

The long-rumored couple snuggles on the couch watching a television showing a shot of the Supreme Court. Jack Hunter, the artists who put the cover together, submitted the image to the magazine through its Tumblr outlet.

It happened so quickly. That’s how Kristen Ellis-Henderson describes what it was like being asked to pose for the now historic marriage equality kiss on the cover of “Time” magazine. The bassist for the all-female country-rock band Antigone Rising and her spouse Sarah Kate Ellis-Henderson both made headlines when they announced they were married, pregnant and giving birth three weeks apart. Their modern family became the inspiration for the cover story, which focuses on the ins and outs of same-sex love and parenting in America.

“Time” came out with its annual list of 100 influential people and there are, per usual, a lot of interesting names on the list. You have the coolest double date in history, (Jay-Z, Beyonce, Barack and Michelle Obama); a Duchess (Kate Middleton), a King (LeBron James), and the queen of destroying happy couples (Shonda Rimes). One of the coolest parts of the list is seeing who wrote the tribute to each honoree. For example, Oprah wrote the piece on Shonda and Maya Angelou took up her pen for the First Lady. Jodie Foster was behind cover girl Jennifer Lawrence’s entry. We took a look at the entire list and came up with a five out ladies we would like to see on the list and who we would pick to write each tribute.

Time magazine went all-in on gay marriage Thursday, releasing two covers with the stark headline “Gay Marriage Already Won.” The covers show two men and two women kissing. The men are domestic partners in California; the women are married with two children.

“We had a long debate in our offices about this week’s cover images of two same-sex couples,” Magazine Chief Rick  Stengel wrote. “Some thought they were sensationalist and too in-your-face. Others felt the images were beautiful and symbolized the love that is at the heart of the idea of marriage. I agree with the latter, and I hope you do too.”

“Real L Word” star Saj Golde hopes her latest endeavor, BlackOUT Magazine, provides a positive outlet for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people of African descent. Golde, the lesbian newbie seen on Season Two of Showtime’s “The Real L-Word,” has also been producing music videos since the show.

“When I first came out a few years ago, I had no clue what it meant to be a black lesbian,” Golde told Elixher. “There were plenty of images of white lesbian relationships, Ellen and Portia, ‘The L Word,’ then ‘The Real L Word’ ladies and their partners — but no one who looked like me, or whose experiences represented my experiences. I really struggled to figure out what my life meant relative to my sexuality and I had very little guidance along my journey.”

Vanity Fair will be devoting their January 2013 issue to comedy and those who practice it best, a first for the magazine. While I support this idea wholeheartedly, there are a few kinks with the issue we need to discuss, because this is the Internet, and we can. First off: Vanity Fair teamed with “60 Minutes” to create a poll about things that make us laugh, and like most polls penned by “60 Minutes,” the results are weird. The main one we need to bitch about is this: 60 percent of those polled believe men are funnier than women.
