It’s been a tough week for Homer Simpson. First, Daryl killed him in a “Walking Dead” tribute created by “Simpsons” artist Eric Keyes. Then, he almost got in on the selfie that broke Twitter. “The Simpsons” Tweeted out their own take on Ellen DeGeneres’ massive Oscars selfie.

All of the stars were Simpson-ized, including Ellen DeGeneres, Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lawrence, and Meryl Streep. Even Jared Leto — who was mostly cut out of the original — was fully present in this one.

The 2014 Oscar nominations were announced this morning and the major disappointment for lesbian viewers is that neither Léa Seydoux nor Adèle Exarchopoulos were nominated for their roles in “Blue Is the Warmest Color.” It’s not surprising; neither of them were nominated for a Golden Globe, either, and those awards are firmly European. Maybe that NC-17 rating really did kill its chances like so many critics predicted. The film itself was not eligible for Best Foreign Film because it wasn’t released in its native France until after the Academy’s deadline. But we were holding out a little hope for Seydoux and Exarchopoulos. Alas!

Out lesbian actress Jane Lynch has lent her voice to numerous animated films over the years, including the 2012 hit “Wreck-It Ralph.” In the popular Disney film, which is nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, Lynch plays Calhoun, the no-nonsense squad leader in a video game not unlike “Call of Duty.” (Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer and John C. Reilly, as the title Ralph, star in the film as well.) Lynch discusses the joys of animation, her expectations for Oscar host Seth MacFarlane and her appearance on “The West Wing.”
