Coming from a predominantly white, conservative area of the world (Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada) with more trees than people, I hid my sexuality from my single mother, from everyone until the past several years. I thought marrying a man was the right thing to do for my daughter, so I did it. I remember signing the marriage license with lackluster.

Fast-forward to 2013 and I met someone who would change the course of my life. I recently married the love of my life and finally had to come out to my mother who, to my surprise, didn’t skip a beat about the whole thing. I actually think, looking back now, she knew more than I cared to admit. My marriage came as no surprise to her at all and she treats my wife like a daughter (and then some).

As a mixed race lesbian, my childhood and teen years weren’t exactly smooth sailing, to say the least. I looked forward to adulthood because I believed that I would be accepted for who I was in the adult world and I could escape the ridicule and shunning I experienced for years.

The recent terror attacks and threats aimed at the LGBTQ has been particularly challenging for me to cope with and brings back a great deal of memories in one form or another. The other side of things is that I’m somewhat in the spotlight as a Celebrity Numerologist, two-time bestselling author and featured columnist for LotteryUSA.com (with over 8 million visitors per month). I’ve been on major media and if you google my name, you’ll find over 40,000 pages of Michelle Arbeau. I feel like I’m a moving target for judgment of all kinds.

There’s an extra fear factor of coming out of the closet and being completely open when you’re in the spotlight in some way. I worried how my publishers would feel, if I’d still get media interviews, and how my fans and clientele would feel that their favorite numerologist was a lesbian.

I had come out to myself but it was time to come out of the closet all the way. I decided to nonchalantly post something on social media and held my breath it would be well-received. To my shock and delight, no one disapproved, not a single soul. Given the fact that I have a lot of social media followers, that’s saying something.

As horrific as the recent attack in Orlando was and the attempted attack in West Hollywood, do we continue to live in fear of being ourselves? Hell no. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from not only being gay but being mixed race is that it’s worse to hide it than any other way. There will always be people who will hate you for one reason or another, whether it’s because you’re gay or because you’re simply wearing the wrong shirt. Hatred is everywhere but I want to leave you with one quote from a special older friend I had years ago that applies to this situation in a round about way. He told me this: “The recessions have never affected me because I never believed it was about me.”

We can live in fear or we can believe that an isolated terror attack toward the LGBTQ community isn’t about you, your friends, loved ones, etc. It won’t happen to you, it’s not a part of your reality. As terrible as it is, this was someone else’s path, not yours or mine.

Walk tall, stand proud and believe that your path is a different one than these terrorists want us to believe. Who has the right to decide it is ever wrong to be yourself?

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for and it’s finally here. If you asked just about anyone during the past several months if they’ve felt something big was brewing, they probably didn’t hesitate to say YES! January 2015 has been percolating behind the scenes, infiltrating our thoughts, dreams and ambitions with hints of what was to come. 2015 is an 8 year, the number of abundance, manifestation, wisdom independence and confidence. It’s the “no-fail” year to go after your goals with gusto. Obama was in a Personal Year of 8 when he was re-elected for a second term. Oprah was also in an 8 year when her newly hatched network “OWN” was teetering on the brink of failure and the world was waiting for her empire to collapse. Both Oprah and Obama endured in part because of the powerful influence of the doubtless 8.

2015 will bring with it great strides in recovery from a business perspective (8 is doubtless and abundant leadership energy). The phoenix is rising from the ashes as the world picks itself up and dusts itself off. As if July, August, September and October didn’t give us enough of a run for our money, we’ve got November, the month of new beginnings, taking us through the peaks and valleys in a not-so-subtle way.

We’ll go from pioneer to pitfall and back again. New beginnings aren’t exactly the easiest waters to navigate. If you feel like you’re all over the place and lost your inner GPS at the moment, you’re not alone. In the month of new beginnings, you’d expect to be exploding with motivation, but there will be some definite flat-line moments (latter part of the first week in particular). Keep your chin up and don’t become frustrated by your peek-a-boo sense of motivation. It will even out closer to the 12th month and hold fairly strong for the remainder of 2014. Talk about turning the page. Today is a one, the number of new beginnings. We’re officially ending the mixed bag of clarity and chaos that was August and preparing ourselves to step into a whole new world this September.

The eighth month of 2014 has a particularly challenging month, to say the least. Dubbed the month of manifestation/abundance and considered the “no-fail” energy (eight), it has been a roller coaster ride through highs, lows and now the crashes have hit.

As the eighth month, August is typically a high flow-high confidence month with lots of doubtless eight energy to spare (number of confidence, independence and wisdom), but there’s a big dip in the stream this week as we hit a patch of confidence killer twos. The two is the number of intuition, sensitivity and cooperation and could essentially be viewed as eights opposite in many ways.

Although they’re both soul plane frequencies, two is the most subdued and sensitive while eight is the most active and detached of the emotional numbers. We enjoy multiple eights last week with a whopping amount of confidence and abundant energy at our fingertips but this week we’ll leave the rapids and enter the calm glass lake. It will feel like you’re breaking to a screeching halt but really you’re being given a minute to read the direction of your flow. To top it off, we’ve got double eights present (8th month and 18th day) but instead of independent confidence, the eight turns to its negative attitude of detached, cold and self-absorbed. The icing on the cake is the 24-six leads with the most sensitive soul plane number two. Emotions are touchy (two) and all over the board (six number of extremes).

If there’s one thing a six brings out in relationship dealings, it’s more drama than you can handle. It’s a self-sabotaging energy in the negative so be prepared for saying the wrong things at the wrong time and getting lashed out at haphazardly from all angles. If you’re not already feeling like the black sheep this week, today will put you over the edge into exile. The 25-seven day is leading with a double dose of soul plane energy (two and five) and combining to add to the seven, the number of truth, authenticity and the deep, philosophical energy. The seven demands we take time alone to contemplate and reflect as the spiritual mountain number. Coincidentally, more churches are built at 7 addresses than any other number because of the sevens pull to go within for deep self-reflection. The flip side of today’s energy is that the seven also has a tendency to leap-before-thinking as the most active physical number. We’re back in the presence of the eight day (double eights at that) today, but unfortunately not in the same way we experienced last week. It’s a 17-eight day with a side helping of double sensitive twos (20th day plus 2014 year) sending that inner seve (inner number in 17-eight) back into the cave for another day contemplation. The plus side is that you’ll be chalk full of wise advice as the communication number (one) combines with the deep, philosophical number of truth (seven) adding together to create the number of wisdom (eight). Unlike Monday, keeping your mouth shut isn’t necessary because you’ll be saying all the right words today. What you held back during the first of the week can be easily spoken today and be well received, for the most part. Keep your notebook handy to write down all those superb, wisdom-filled, Hallmark card quality quotes you’ll come up with this Wednesday. You’ll learn a lot from your knowledgeable self. Today’s energy takes the meaning of “self-taught” to another level.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 21, 2014
Thursday: The highest change day of the week has the confidence number (eight) in the inner or weaker position. It’s a 18-nine day and although it’s the same frequency as the word LOVE, you’re not really feeling any love today. The opposite side of the high change nine is judgmental, opinionated and stubborn (rigid beliefs/ideals). It’s a nit-picky kind of day as the nine is lacking the confident upswing of the eight and the negative eight comes out to join forces with the negative nine. These two can make for a dynamite combo in the positive (ambitious, confident, doubtless and big dreamer energies) but in the negative, they can be the ugliest pair of all as the most active mental number (nine) and the most active soul number (eight). Tangent, what-if thinking and detached self-absorbed feelings spells DIFFICULT to get along with. You aren’t going to be right in anyone’s eyes today (nor they in yours). It’s a Thursday of butting heads in the extreme with pretty much everyone reporting some kind of loss on the battlefield. Take it with a grain of salt though because it’s the energy, not you. Cut your losses and move on because tomorrow is a new day — literally and figuratively.

Here’s your chance to balance the scales from yesterday as you may have (probably) voiced your opinions a tad too loudly. The negative nine can be lopsided and justice-seeking in its view of things (someone has to pay) but there’s nothing like a very physical one day to straighten out the super mind-based nine. Today’s date should have a warning sign that says, “Caution. 180 Degree Shifts Ahead”. It’s a 16-seven day, which means you’re turning the page and taking the plunge into the next chapter.

Coupled with the assertive, bold and confident eighth month energy, every major change energy day is going to be accentuated and feeling like it’s over the top.

We’ve hit the double digit dates this month too and while some days are calmer than others, many days (like today) may feel like land mines, blowing apart any kind of logical planning you may want to do.

Resistance is futile while under the influence of such unpredictable flow. You have got to roll with the punches to avoid a TKO. Since it’s a soulful month (eight is most active soul number) combined with a truth-centered day (seven is number of truth), if it makes no logical sense but feels right, go for it.
