Ellen DeGeneres threw major shade at Caitlyn Jenner over the latter’s right wing views of same sex marriage today on the “Howard Stern Show.” It started when Caitlyn Jenner went on Ellen’s show and said:

“I’m a traditionalist.I’m older than most people in the audience. I kind of like tradition, and it’s always been a man and a woman. I’m thinking, ‘I don’t quite get it.’ I think, like a lot of people on this issue, I have really changed my thinking here to, ‘I don’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness.’ That’s not my job, okay? If that word – ‘marriage’ – is really, really that important to you, I can go with it.”

DeGeneres called out Jenner on her tone- noting that the phrasing and the tone don’t really make it sound like Jenner is on board with marriage equality. DeGeneres later went on Howard Stern to discuss how awkward that moment was. In her usual style, she was funny and gracious but perhaps slightly more acerbic than usual- saying:

“She [Jenner] still has a judgement about gay marriage. And I said, ‘You’re wanting people to understand and accept you — this is like, really confusing to people — and you still have a judgement about gay people and marriage”

Later, Sten asked DeGeneres if Jenner had danced with her, something most of DeGeneres’ guests do: “Maybe she didn’t want to dance with me because I’m a lesbian.”

She also got in one last barb before the conversation was over, saying” I think a lot of Republicans are wishing she wasn’t Republican.” Ellen wouldn’t be Ellen if she didn’t end the interview on a nice note, saying she just wanted Jenner to be happy.

What do you think? Team Ellen or Team Caitlyn?

Today, Dattch, “The Lesbian App,” starts a column for Lesbian.com on love, dating and, well, lesbians. We figured a good way to kickstart this lesbian loving affair was to look at the celebrity couples that had it right.

So how about looking at these nine super cute famous lesbian couples? We promise your work rate will improve after reading this list. Either that, or you’ll be desperate to get a girlfriend of your own.

1. Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi

Although rumours of divorce seem to always to trouble Ellen and Portia, they still are the queen and queen of lesbian couples. They have have been together since 2004 and tied the knot in 2008, the equivalent of a 30-year marriage in celebrity years.

2. Chely Blitzer-Wright & Lauren Blitzer-Wright

Another married couple. Country star Chely Wright came out as a lesbian in 2010 and married girlfriend Lauren Blitzer. The two have twin sons and post loads of pictures of them on their Twitter.

3. Cara Delevingne & Michelle Rodriguez

So what if Michelle Rodriguez is apparently with Zac Efron now. Unless we have a bombshell on the way, Cara and Michelle will still hold the trophy of 2014’s coolest lesbian couple and deserve a place on the list. The English supermodel and “Fast & Furious” actress were paparazzi’s favorite gays.

4. Adele Haenel & Celine Sciamma

Adele came out in this year’s Cesar, the French Academy Awards, by thanking her girlfriend Celine. The two met when filming the lesbian movie “Water Lilies.” Adele was the lead actress, Celine the director.

5. Wanda & Alex Sykes

Comedian Wanda Sykes married the French Alex Niedbalski, a month before publicly coming in 2008. This adorable lesbian couple have two children together, Lucas and Olivia Sykes.

6. Michelle Harper & Jenny Shimizu

The model Jenny Shimizu is famous for dating Angelina Jolie in the 90s, but her current girlfriend is actually fashion brand consultant Michelle Harper. Rejoice in the super cute queer photoshoot the two did for a clothing brand.

7. Beth Ditto & Kristin Ogata

Last year, The Gossip’s Beth Ditto married her long-term girlfriend Kristin Ogata in a wedding ceremony in Hawaii. Beth was wearing a Jean Paul-Gaultier dress and Ogata was wearing a shorts suit. Alright for some.

8. Rose & Rosie

The lesbian YouTubers are, quite possibly, the cutest lesbian YouTubers on YouTube. You’ve probably seen Rose & Rosie’s gifs on Tumblr or watched videos of them goofing around. A video of them “superkissing” has over a million views, so safe to say they are popular with lesbians.

9. Ellen Page & You

A lesbian can dream.

What did you miss this week in the world of LGBT news? Check out our Lesbian.com round-up and you’ll be ready to gather ’round the rainbow-colored water cooler to talk about five of the biggest, best and most interesting stories for June 29 – July 5.

Etheridge releases “Take My Number”

On Tuesday Melissa Etheridge released the debut single from her upcoming “This is ME” album. “Take My Number” is the first song off Etheridge’s much anticipated LP, expected to drop on September 30.

You can purchase the new song on iTunes and watch the official live video below.

Lesbian couple attacked after San Francisco Pride event

Police are investigating an attack on a lesbian couple in San Francisco in which the women were beaten and kicked by as many as six men.

Jennifer and Jakki, who requested that their last names not be released, were returning from a Pride event last Saturday evening when a group of men shouted a homophobic slur before initiating the attack on Jennifer.

The frightening ordeal left Jennifer with a concussion, bruises and lacerations while Jakki, who jumped in to try to protect her partner, suffered a broken wrist.

The couple speaks with a local news station in the video below.

Swedish ice hockey team shows support for LGBT rights

An ice hockey team in Kiruna, Sweden, announced that its players will don rainbow-colored uniforms for the 2014-2015 season in an effort to become the first sporting association to receive certification by the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights.

“During the season 2014/2015, Kiruna IF will change their uniforms and make a stand by wearing rainbow-colored jerseys,” the club announced in a press release. “In addition to this gesture, the players will give talks in schools, as part of a collaboration with Kiruna Municipality, and participate in events which aim to increase the understanding and acceptance of people’s differences and similarities. By setting a good example, Kiruna IF want to prevent bullying and exclusion and create the best opportunities for all young people to play and love hockey.”

Portia De Rossi rehab rumors

Reports surfaced this week that Portia De Rossi checked into Passages Malibu, a rehab facility, for treatment for drug and alcohol issues in early May following an “ugly fight” with wife Ellen DeGeneres.

An unnamed source told In Touch magazine that “Portia hadn’t been happy for a while and was drinking and isolating [herself], and Ellen confronted her. Portia lost it and blamed Ellen for driving her to drink because of her controlling ways and said she wasn’t in love with her anymore. Ellen was crushed and screamed at Portia to get out.”

The source continued, “Ellen is domineering and Portia is passive,” and their marriage is full of “jealousy, lies, and fighting.” De Rossi “felt like a prisoner in her own home. She went from sipping white wine occasionally to drinking at least a bottle or more a day and topping it off with a pill.”

During De Rossi’s 30-day stay at Passages, DeGeneres reportedly visited her every weekend to offer her support and the couple are said to be working to save the marriage.

DeGeneres and De Rossi issued no formal statement to address the reports.

Burger King unveils Proud Whopper for San Francisco Pride

A Burger King in downtown San Francisco celebrated Pride with the Proud Whopper, a Whopper wrapped in a rainbow-colored wrapper inscribed with the message “We are all the same inside.”

“It showcases who we are as a brand,” says Fernando Machado, senior vice president of global brand management at Burger King. “It shows how we, as a brand, believe in self-expression.”

All Proud Whopper sandwich sales, Machado says, will be donated to the Burger King McLamore Foundation for scholarships benefiting LGBT high school seniors graduating in spring 2015.

According to USA Today, one gay rights activist says Burger King is doing the right thing. “Whenever a company comes out in support of gay people, it makes a difference,” says Jordan Bach, a consultant to corporations on gay rights issues and a GLAAD media partner. “But when it’s done right — when it’s done with a campaign that shows the company understands diversity and really believes in the profound acceptance of other people — that sort of marketing can change minds and hearts at the deepest level.”

Burger King was also a sponsor of this year’s San Francisco Pride celebration, marking the first time the company has sponsored a U.S.-based Pride parade.

Watch public reaction to the Proud Whopper in the Burger King video below.

OK! magazine is reporting that lesbian “it” couple Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi are planning to celebrate their upcoming sixth wedding anniversary by renewing their vows.

The magazine reports that the couple, who married in August 2008, is hoping to quell any Splitsville rumors by recommitting to each other in a lavish ceremony to be held in Sydney, Australia.

According to an unnamed source quoted in the story, DeGeneres and DeRossi “want to show their commitment to each other,” adding, “There have been a lot of headlines suggesting that their relationship is in trouble. They want to quash them.”

In a March issue of People magazine, DeGeneres rebuffed divorce rumors, saying, “I love her so much it kills me. The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time. I really do.”

DeGeneres also addressed the tabloid tales of discord on her talk show, saying, “There’s not one ounce of truth to any of it. I’m very happily married. The only thing we ever argue about is who loves who more; it really is true. If there’s anything you need to know, I will announce it here first.”

OK! Reports that the couple is looking to do something on or around their sixth anniversary, August 16, in Portia’s home country.

“They want it to be in Sydney because the city has a big gay population, and they want to help spur the acceptance of same-sex marriage,” said the unnamed source.

Academy-award winning actor Jodie Foster, 51, put a ring on it over the weekend, wedding girlfriend Alexandra Hedison.

The couple has been dating over a year.

Foster came out publicly at the Golden Globes last year after decades of speculation over her orientation. Foster has two sons, Charles and Kit, with Cydney Bernard with whom she had a relationship for 20 years. They split in 2008, but continue to co-parent their sons.

Hedison, a photographer and actor who was a regular on “The L Word,” dated comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres for three years. DeGeneres left Hedison for Portia DeRossi in 2004.

Foster’s rep confirmed the weekend nuptials. While not much is known about the couple, who only recently began to appear together publicly, it’s clear from a survey of online photos that the pair shares a love of culottes in various shades of tan. It’s the first marriage for both.

Ellen DeGeneres reclaimed her spot atop Out magazine’s Power 50 list, the publication’s ranking of the most influential LGBT voices in American culture.

DeGeneres traded spots with Apple CEO Tim Cook after a year in which the comedian saw her daytime talk show ratings and popularity soar. Earlier this year, DeGeneres’ gained notoriety for “the selfie that broke Twitter” during her gig as Oscars host.

“Everybody loves Ellen, and that’s one of the reasons she’s regained the top spot,” Out wrote.

Lesbians had a strong showing on the magazine’s 8th annual list with MSNBC news anchor/political commentator Rachel Maddow (#3), U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (#4) and television host Robin Roberts (#10) joining DeGeneres in the top 10. Other notables included actresses Jane Lynch (#20) and Ellen Page (#29), WNBA star Brittney Griner (#31) and television host and author Suze Orman (#35).
