Great advice on the first relationships too – mine was a trainwreck and I’m still working on getting over the heartbreak of it. I do feel like i’m finally “me”, though.

Heather, I wish you all the luck in the world. Just know that as you’re making the transition and encountering challenges, there’s no better feeling in the world than being yourself, i.e., it’s all worth it in the end. I don’t regret my married years, but I certainly don’t regret leaving them behind either. I’m 16 years out of my marriage and I’m happier than I’ve ever been. That “It Gets Better” campaign applies to coming out of marriages, too! πŸ™‚
