I really enjoyed your piece, Candy.

I haven’t seen a Chic Fil A in my area (greater Boston) although I hear they are trying to infiltrate, despite Mayor Menino’s letter telling them to stay away. I have heard that Kentucky Fried Chicken is the gay friendly fast food chicken. I’m’ sure both restaurants would raise your cholesterol, regardless of politics.

I like the opposition to Chic Fil A. I like the way so many people are boycotting them in the name of gay rights, well, in the name of not hating an entire population of people even if you say you don”t – because if you give money to those who do, Mr. Cathy, then you are buying hate.

Don’t get me started on the irony of the guy’s name.

If Apple ever becomes anit-gay, be in touch, I’ll introduce you to DROID.

Great stuff, Candy. I loved reading this.

Excellent point, Lorie. It’s another blog entry for another day, but one concept that gets lost amidst all this at times is the real danger many LGBT people around the world are in every day because of their orientation. Products and possessions are indeed meaningless when compared to one’s life or the life of a loved one.

However, the one thing that would draw my line is life, mine or that of another. I’ve been pro active from day one of the fight for our equality and refused to patronize Chik Fulla Hate even before it was public knowledge that they funded hate groups because I knew they were anti-gay. I fully intended to take part in the August 3rd demonstration until I researched all of the opposition’s commentaries on the event. There are innuendos and direct threats of bodily harm and knowing that there is no furry like a religious fanatic spewing hate in the name of God, I’ve decided it isn’t worth bodily harm or death when these people are immune to any reasonable argument. I will continue the fight but in a less threatening forum.
