If we weren’t in an alternate universe nightmarescape, this would be our president and we would all be proud. This is what a president looks like, this is what a president sounds like. In her first post-concession speech, Hillary Clinton once again demonstrates the poise, intelligence and heart of a true leader. Oh, yeah, and if it’s any consolation, she won the popular vote by 1.2 million votes. FML.

‘Twas the Night before Christmas and all through the flat
Not a creature was stirring not even the cat;
The stockings were hung by the TV with care.
As they made a good basket for balls shot through the air.
The children, what children? ‘Tis a lesbo poem here.
The only thing nestled was a cooler of beer.
My girl in her Knicks hat and I in my Pistons,
Were discussing which team would end up with less wins.
When out in the street there arose such a noise,
So close to The Abbey, it must be gay boys.
To the window I went, to see things for certain
And moved all the cat toys to look out through the curtain.
The moon, nearly full, lit the sky with a glow,
And the shadows from trees put on quite a show.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a black hybrid town car and 8 officers = queer.
With a confident driver, quick witted and bright,
Who looked just like Hillary =hard to tell in this light.
Circled ‘round her, her agents looked this way and that
A new crew it seemed as directions she spat.
“Now! Ellen, now! Wanda, now! Rachel and Rosie,
“On! Portia, on! Lily, on! Holland and Jodie;
“Shake hands at the Abbey, shake hands in the street!
“My record’s not perfect – pissed off gays we must meet!”
Like the milkmen of old, to each house they did go,
No stone left unturned, they went with the flow.
Each person encountered, she spoke with sincere,
“I promise this time, I’ll be always pro-queer.”
And, then in a twinkling, I heard just outside
A voice calling, “All clear,” and another replied:
“Okay, bring her up,” and my heart leapt a bit.
At my door was Ms. Hillary, and I thought, “No shit!”
She was dressed in a pant suit, and comfortable shoes.
And her hair looked just perfect, must be good shampoo.
A pamphlet, all glossy, she held in her hand,
A promise and details to her governing plan.
Her eyes – full of passion! Her attitude merry,
Her cheeks were like roses (maybe hitting the sherry?)
She talked of her goals and how suited she is
To be our next leader, “I’m the best in the biz!”
On and on she did go ‘bout her qualifications.
She needed support and, of course, more donations.
When I asked her about Marco, Ted, Jeb and ole Trump,
Her eyes rolled with disgust, “Just big pains in my rump.”
“I’ve got more experience, Trump’s all ego and wealth.”
And, I laughed when she said that in spite of myself.
A wink of her eye and a handshake most sturdy
I knew she was ready for when this got dirty.
My vote I did promise and I wished her good luck.
“Dear God, you must win ‘cuz the Republicans suck.”
And laying a finger aside of her chin
And, giving a nod, secret service came in.
She sprung to her car with her team in protection
And away they all went, off to win the election.
But I heard her exclaim, ere she drove out of sight –
Happy Christmas to all, and “Hillary 2016!”

Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, declared her support of same-sex marriage along with several other same-sex positions. Armed with a graphic Powerpoint presentation that included videos, Clinton explained exactly how her position had changed and how happy she was when she made it. Her delight was shared by the LGBT community who not only welcomed her support for same-sex marriage, but busted their collective butts to get home to try out the new positions.

The surprise announcement came despite Clinton’s avowed heterosexuality. At a news conference Clinton said, “Shifting my position felt natural and frankly, being on top of my subject makes me feel more comfortable. It was a long time in coming and I felt a great release.”

Responding to her statement, spokesperson Anita Muff from the lesbian PR firm Butch and Cassidy, remarked, “It’s understandable that Clinton prefers being on top. It’s a natural expression of her personality. After all, she’s a powerful woman. We would expect her to take charge.”

Years ago, Clinton’s detractors tried to discredit her by calling her a lesbian. Since then, this country has witnessed a sea change in attitudes, lesbian wannabes dominate the media, the USA soccer team accepted straight women, and with the exception of a few backwater hold-outs, a majority of states have passed legislation to further same-sex marriage and civil liberty protections.

Even in Indiana and much of the South, where stubborn attitudes cling like liars to falsehoods, closeted gays found reason to hope. “It’s a mystery to me why women continue to vote against their best interests,” said one woman who preferred to remain anonymous. “Perhaps this new revelation will free women to vote their conscious and stop being led like sheep to the slaughter. Also, I tried one of the positions she recommended and my partner and I loved it! Wow! Check out slide eleven on the PowerPoint. She’s got my vote.”

Interviewed at home, Florida republican Jeb Bush scoffed at the news. “This ploy is merely a political version of ‘Girls Gone Wild.’ She’s taken a page from her husband’s playbook to get publicity. Should I join the presidential race, I’m not worried about getting women voters. History has proven how much women like a Bush.”

While Clinton’s appeal for women is busting out front and center, millions of men find her an attractive candidate, too. Roland Tumble, director of the San Francisco-based LGBTQQIAXYZ Center said, “We cheered at her commitment to our community. Hillary is hot and ready to go. It’s times like this, I wish I were a lesbian.”

Upon hearing the news, another San Franciscan, Monica Lewinsky, also made an astounding admission. In a Twitter post that has since gone viral, Lewinsky tweeted: “Finally can tell rest of story. My only interest in Bill was to get to Hillary. So happy for her. Hillary, call me.”

A spokeswoman in the Clinton camp indicated there could be more startling announcements in the days to come, inferring that Clinton’s openness at trying new positions bodes well for other aspects of the leadership role she hopes to win in 2016.

Clinton spars with NPR host

The internet was abuzz after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s appearance on NPR Thursday during which “Fresh Air” host Terry Gross either badgered or persistently questioned (depending on your personal view of the exchange) regarding her evolving stance on marriage equality.

Gross appeared to imply that Clinton’s current support for same-sex marriage was a matter of political expediency. During Clinton’s 2008 campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, she endorsed domestic partnerships, but stated her opposition for same-sex marriage. In March 2013, Clinton issued a statement announcing, “I support marriage for lesbian and gay couples. I support it personally and as a matter of policy and law.”

Listen to Clinton’s exchange with Gross below and let us know what you think — was Clinton being dodgy or was Gross’ question asked and answered? Weigh in below in the “Leave a reply” block.

Vocativ lists 35 most LGBT-friendly cities

On Wednesday, global media giant Vocativ published its first Queer Index, ranking the most livable cities American cities for LGBT people.

Utilizing information obtained from open databases, public sites and social networks, including Craigslist, Facebook, Yelp, Rentboy, the U.S. census and the FBI crimes database, Vocativ determined which cities were the best places for LGBT people to live, work and socialize.

Perhaps surprisingly, San Francisco did not top the list of LGBT-friendly places, instead placing third behind New York City (No. 2) and Los Angeles (No.1).

Michael Sam signs with St. Louis Rams

Last month, the St. Louis Rams made history when they selected Michael Sam in the NFL draft. Thursday, the team advanced that history a bit further as Sam inked a four-year, $2.65 million deal, making the former Missouri standout and SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year the first openly gay player to be hired into a one of the four major professional sports leagues.

The deal guarantees Sam, 24, a minimum of $46,000.

After the announcement, the clearly elated Sam tweeted, “Grateful, humbled, and motivated after officially signing with all my Rams rookie brothers. Let’s do this!! #RamUp”

Anti-gay foreign minister named president of U.N. General Assembly

On Wednesday, Ugandan foreign minister Sam Kutesa was unanimously elected president of the U.N. General Assembly, sparking criticism from LGBT rights activists and their allies.

Kutesa supports Uganda’s controversial Anti-Homosexual Bill which criminalizes homosexuality and imposes a life sentence upon anyone found guilty of repeated same-sex sexual acts. The AP reported that the foreign minister has also faced corruption and bribery allegations.

The AP said that the position is “largely ceremonial but prestigious” and critics voiced concern that by bestowing the honor on Kutesa, and, by extension, Uganda, the U.N. was sending the wrong message regarding the country’s anit-gay legislation.

Same-sex marriages halted in Wisconsin

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb put at least a temporary halt to same-sex marriages in Wisconsin — just one week after she struck down the state’s ban.

It was clear from the judge’s remarks that she felt constrained by the Supreme Court: “”After seeing the expressions of joy on the faces of so many newly wedded couples featured in media reports, I find it difficult to impose a stay on the event that is responsible for eliciting that emotion, even if the stay is only temporary. Same-sex couples have waited many years to receive equal treatment under the law, so it is understandable that they do not want to wait any longer,” wrote Crabb in her decision, adding, “A federal district court is required to follow the guidance provided by the Supreme Court. Because I see no way to distinguish this case from Herbert, I conclude that I must stay any injunctive relief pending appeal.”

Herbert is a Supreme Court case in which same-sex marriages in Utah were put on hold.

Accepting an award from the Elton John AIDS Foundation, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the audience on October 15 that there is still more work to be done in aiding people with HIV and AIDS. As she accepted the first Founder’s Award, she said she wants an “AIDS-free generation” to be “our North Star.”

“We still have so far to go,” Clinton said during her speech at the Cipriani Wall Street ballroom in New York. “There are so many challenges in front of us. I thank you, but I know there’s more for us to do. Humans may discriminate, but viruses don’t.”

The Obama administration unveiled on Thursday a “blueprint” for confronting the global AIDS epidemic that includes as one of its goals targeting populations that are most vulnerable to HIV/AIDS — including men who have sex with men.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton touted the plan during a ceremony at the State Department as a tool to achieve the vision of an “AIDS-free generation” that she previously articulated a year ago.

“Now, make no mistake about it: HIV may well be with us into the future,” Clinton said. “But the disease that it causes need not be. We can reach a point where virtually no children are born with the virus, and as these children become teenagers and adults, they are at a far lower risk of becoming infected than they are today. And if they do acquire HIV, they have access to treatment that helps prevent them from not only from developing AIDS, but from passing the virus on to others.”
